About the Distinguished Research Fellow Appointment

Distinguished Research Fellow is an honorary title conferred on senior scholars who have demonstrated exceptional academic achievement and are recognized for sustained contribution to fields aligned with the Institute's research areas. The appointment is intended to strengthen the intellectual standing of the Institute's fellowship community and to recognize scholars whose stature and guidance benefit the Institute's programs.

Distinguished Research Fellows are appointed by invitation of the Academic Committee and Institute leadership, rather than through the Institute's open application process. Senior scholars who believe they may be suited to this appointment, or who wish to nominate a colleague, may contact the Institute directly.
